Periplus of the Erythraean Sea

Definition: The Periplus of the Erythreaen Sea is an unsigned travel guide to the southern Arabian peninsula, written during the 1st century AD. Like Pausanias, this travel writer's work has been of considerable use to historians and archaeologists learning about the world of 2000 years ago.
