2005 Salary Survey (Society for American Archaeology)
A survey of working archaeologists primarily in the United States provides some data as to current wage scales for various professionals.
Australian Archaeology in Profile
A survey conducted by Sean Ulm, including demographic, employment and professional activities data. Not yet completed as of August 2006, but it should be available shortly. The survey include over 300 respondents.
United Kingdom: Profiling the Profession
This detailed survey was undertaken by the Council for British Archaeology, English Heritage and the Institute of Field Archaeologists during 1998. Summary statistics including numbers of archaeologists and in which fields. Included over 2,800 survey respondents.
US: 2005 Salary Survey
The Society for American Archaeology and the Society for Historical Archaeology hired an independent survey company and polled some 2,100 archaeologists about their jobs. Detailed summary statistics online.
